Your budget. Your choices.

A cheaper flight isn't always a cheaper trip.

Compare two sets of prices against the same hard budget. See what fits your numbers, what needs to change, and what to verify before you book.

Fictional examples, not available offers. Replace every price with your own quote in US dollars. No live prices, destination search or availability check. Fitting the arithmetic does not mean a trip is available to book.

1. Keep your hard constraints in view

One party size, one hard budget and one contingency apply to both scenarios. They never change when you try a shorter trip. Enter a zero contingency only if you intend to model no buffer.

2. Enter two quotes or hypothetical scenarios

All figures must use the same currency. Nights + 1 = allowance days here, including both travel days. Per-night lodging covers all rooms for the whole party; airfare/transport covers everyone, round trip. Enter taxes and fees in the matching quote or extras, never both. If a bundle includes meals or transport, remove those duplicated amounts from the other fields. Mixed-age meal costs can use a party-average per-person allowance.

A · Original scenario
B · Comparison scenario

Daily allowance may include meals, local transport and activities not counted elsewhere. One-time extras may include baggage, transfers, resort fees, insurance or other costs you choose to include. These are input categories, not claims that any provider charges a particular fee.

Transparent arithmetic & limitations

Allowance days = nights + 1. Accommodation = nightly all-room price × nights. Daily costs = daily per-person allowance × party size × allowance days. Base total = round-trip party transport + accommodation + daily costs + one-time extras. Contingency = base total × selected percentage, rounded to the nearest cent; all-in total = base total + contingency.

Headroom = hard budget − all-in total. The airfare/transport ceiling is the largest whole-cent party transport cost that fits after the other entered costs and rounded contingency. When other costs alone exceed the cap, no nonnegative airfare can make that scenario fit. The extra-night illustration adds one accommodation night plus one daily allowance day for everyone, with unchanged transport, extras and unit prices; real longer-stay quotes may differ.

Money and percentages accept at most two decimal places. Travelers must be 1–100 whole people; nights 0–365 whole nights. Individual quote fields are limited to $1 million and the hard budget to $100 million. Contingency accepts 0–100%. These are software limits, not suggested spending. Zero nights models one allowance day, not a zero-cost trip.
